Callyst

Call scoring software that works with uploaded recordings (2026)

A tall stack of call cards with three cards pulled out to the side, drawn in thin lines.

Written by Callyst, which makes one of the tools listed. Rival facts are from each company's own pages, read on 21 October 2026. Products and prices change, so follow the links before you decide. If we've got something wrong, email us and we'll fix it.

Which call scoring software works with recordings you already have?

Several tools score recordings you upload yourself, including Amotions AI, Shilo, Voxjar, TalkScope, Cold Call Coach and SQM Group's AutoCX, and Callyst does too. Some give you a page to drop files on; SQM has you send files through its portal; Zendesk QA needs recordings imported into Zendesk QA first.

Callyst takes .wav and .mp3 files and scores them against your own scorecard. Its free check scores up to 10 of your calls and sends a scored report within 24 hours. Callyst is not the best choice for every team, and the sections below say when another tool fits better.

What counts as "uploaded recordings" and what does not?

Three different things get called "works with your recordings":

  • File upload. You have audio files. You drag them onto a page or send them to an API. This post is about this one.
  • Integration. The tool connects to your phone system and pulls calls in itself. You never handle files.
  • Native calls. The tool is the phone system, so it scores only calls made through it.

If your calls already live in one phone system, an integration may take less work than uploading files. If they are in a folder, an export or an old system, you need file upload. Callyst has no built-in phone-system integrations. It takes files you export from any phone system that can export recordings.

Which tools have an upload page?

Amotions AI. Its home page says "Every call, live or uploaded, gets a scorecard" (home, as of 21 Oct 2026). Its docs list audio (MP3, WAV, OGG, FLAC, M4A, AAC) and transcripts, up to 25 MB each, and say video files are not accepted (docs, as of 21 Oct 2026). Plans list monthly upload allowances (pricing, as of 21 Oct 2026). Consider it if you want real-time coaching and roleplay as well as scoring: its pricing page lists both.

Shilo. Upload an MP3 or WAV on the Calls page, enter the call details and the model to grade on, and the call can be graded and analysed (help, as of 21 Oct 2026). Its API takes a link to the audio, not the file (API guide, as of 21 Oct 2026). Its analysis includes a numeric score with a written reason (analysis, as of 21 Oct 2026). Consider it if you are a real estate team: its home page is written for real estate agents and teams (home, as of 21 Oct 2026).

Voxjar. Its free Basics plan lets you upload one call at a time; QA Pro adds bulk uploads (pricing, as of 21 Oct 2026). It says it can "auto evaluate every call with custom criteria" and invites you to "upload a call recording for free and see AI in action" (product page, as of 21 Oct 2026). The pages we read don't list audio formats. Consider it if you want to try a single uploaded call on a free plan first.

TalkScope. It takes MP3, WAV or M4A, and each uploaded file counts as one conversation. Starter is $49 a month for up to 5 agents and 500 conversations; Growth is $199 for up to 25 agents and 5,000 (pricing, as of 21 Oct 2026). Consider it if you want a plan with a stated monthly conversation cap.

Cold Call Coach. Mainly an AI practice-call tool. Its Call Insights feature lets you "upload real sales calls and get AI grading at scale," with custom scorecards (home, as of 21 Oct 2026). It charges £2.00 per report, and £0.25 a minute for practice calls (pricing, as of 21 Oct 2026). The pages we read don't list formats or file limits. Consider it if you also want practice calls for new reps.

SQM Group AutoCX. More a service than a self-serve tool. You send recordings (mp3, .wav, ogg or flac) through SQM's web portal. Its trial options page says results come back within 2 business days. The free trial takes 10 or more calls, is marked "For Customer Service Call Centers Only" and lists CSAT prediction among its benefits (trial options, as of 21 Oct 2026). After you submit the form, an SQM representative phones you with an upload password (trial page, as of 21 Oct 2026). We saw no price for the paid service. Consider it if you run a customer service call centre and want CSAT prediction.

Which tool needs recordings in your help desk first?

Zendesk QA (Voice QA). Zendesk says call recordings "must be imported into Zendesk QA before they can be analyzed", by activating Voice QA with Zendesk Talk or Zendesk Talk Partner Edition (Activating Voice QA, as of 21 Oct 2026). It offers automatic scoring on five default categories (Understanding Voice QA, as of 21 Oct 2026). For phone systems other than Zendesk's own, Zendesk's developer guide shows storing a recording through its Attachments API (50 MB limit, about 50 minutes) and says the account needs the Voice QA add-on with transcriptions on (developer guide, as of 21 Oct 2026). Consider it if your support team already works in Zendesk.

Where does Callyst fit?

Callyst scores the calls you send against your own scorecard. Item scores come with a quote from the call. Each quote is checked word for word against the transcript. If no quote checks out, the score shows without one. Serious problems become same-day flags, and reps get a coaching email every weekday morning. Callyst sets aside voicemails, duplicates, calls under 60 seconds and calls over 90 minutes; those are not scored and not billed. Scores are AI-generated and can be wrong, so review flags before acting.

How files get in:

  • Upload page: .wav or .mp3, up to 50 MB each. The free check uses its own private upload page, with the same file types.
  • API: POST /api/v1/calls, one raw .wav or .mp3 file per request, up to 50 MB, with an access token.
  • Import calls (for teams already using Callyst): a workspace admin can paste up to 50 https links at a time, such as pre-signed storage links, on the Import calls page. This route also takes M4A. Imported calls are scored into your workspace and get no emailed report.
  • Callyst transcribes the audio itself. You send recordings, not transcripts.
  • It scores calls in English.
  • At Callyst, audio is deleted 30 days after scoring, and no recording is kept longer than 35 days.

Try it free. For the free check, upload your .wav or .mp3 files to Callyst: up to 10 calls, 50 MB each. Pasted links are not part of the free check. Your scored report arrives within 24 hours. You need a work email, and each company gets one free check. You confirm you have permission to share the calls.

What it costs. $200 a month for 1 to 3 reps, $280 for 4 to 7, and $40 per rep from 8. Each plan includes 1,000 calls per rep per month, shared across the team; extra calls are 5 cents. No setup fee. See Callyst pricing, and what call QA software costs for how prices are quoted across the market.

For step-by-step instructions, see how to upload call recordings to Callyst.

Is Callyst right for your team?

Callyst is built for teams of any size: $200 a month for 1-3 reps, $280 for 4-7 and $40 per rep from 8 reps. Each plan includes 1,000 calls per rep a month, shared across the team, billed monthly with no annual contract. If you have recorded calls and a scorecard, or a checklist that could become one, start with the free check: up to 10 of your own calls, scored report within 24 hours.

Good to know: Callyst scores calls in English. It works from recordings, so it fits any phone system that can export them. Scores, flags and coaching notes are AI-generated, so review them before acting, especially before any decision about a person's job or pay.

How should you choose?

Ask each vendor, and check the answers on their own pages:

  1. Which file types and sizes do you take? Several tools above don't state a size limit.
  2. Do I upload on a page, or send files to you, or does the recording need to be somewhere else first?
  3. Are uploaded calls scored by AI against my scorecard?
  4. What language does it score?
  5. How long is the audio kept? At Callyst, audio is deleted 30 days after scoring, and no recording is kept longer than 35 days.
  6. How is it priced? The units above all differ, so a price comparison needs your own volume. What call QA software costs walks through this.
  7. What is the scorecard? If you don't have one yet, start with our free call scorecard template.

The best test is your own calls. Take ten recordings your managers have already reviewed and see whether the tool's scores match theirs.

What did we leave out?

We listed only tools where the vendor's own page shows you can upload recordings and that they are scored. Some well-known tools are missing because we couldn't find the vendor's own page confirming that, not because they can't do it. If you think one belongs here, email us.
