How do I export Aircall call recordings and score them?
If you are an Aircall admin or supervisor, you can download recorded calls as MP3 files from the Aircall Dashboard: open Conversation Center, open a call, and choose Export, then Download audio. Aircall says there is no bulk download for recordings, so you do this one call at a time. Upload the MP3s to Callyst for the free check: up to 10 calls, 50 MB each. Pasted links are not part of the free check. For the free check, upload the files. Teams already using Callyst can also have a workspace admin paste up to 50 links at a time on the Import calls page.
Callyst works with any phone system that can export recordings. It has no built-in connection to Aircall or any other phone system.
Last checked against Aircall's help pages: 22 October 2026. Aircall can change its pages and screens at any time; if yours look different, trust Aircall's current pages.
Before you start
- Permission. Aircall says the Conversation Center needs at least the Supervisor or Admin role. Aircall: Conversation Center Call History is also for Admins and Supervisors, and what you see can depend on your number and team permissions. Aircall: Call History If you cannot see Conversation Center, ask your Aircall admin.
- Plan. Aircall says the Conversation Center is included in all Aircall plans. How much call data you can export from Call History depends on the plan: Essentials 6 months, Professional and Custom 12 months, with a 6-month maximum per query. Exports from the Analytics tab are Professional only. Aircall: Call History, Aircall: Accessing, exporting, and deleting call data and recordings
- Recording must already be on. Only Aircall admins can turn recording on, per number. You can only export calls that were recorded. Aircall also does not save recordings shorter than 5 seconds or longer than 4 hours. Aircall: Activating call recording
- How far back. Two things are easy to mix up. (1) The Call History CSV is call data, not audio, and how much of it you can export depends on the plan (see Plan above). (2) For recordings, Aircall says recordings from the last 6 months are available in the Dashboard or through a data export. Aircall: Using call recordings, voicemails, and AI insights Aircall's pages also say the Workspace app shows 5 months, and that older data needs a request to Aircall. Aircall: Accessing, exporting, and deleting call data and recordings Aircall's pages do not say that a 12-month CSV range means 12 months of downloadable audio, so check on your own screen how far back your recordings go. Do not delete the originals while you export; Aircall says deleted recordings cannot be restored.
- The law. Aircall's own page says to make sure call recording is legal in your country or region before you turn it on. It is your responsibility to follow the rules where you and your callers are. We have a plain-English post: Is it legal to record and score sales calls?
- Permission to share. On the free check you tick that you have permission to share the calls. Our Terms ask you to upload only calls you have the right to record and use, including any consent that call-recording laws require.
Step 1: Download the recordings from the Aircall Dashboard
- Sign in to the Aircall Dashboard and open Conversation Center in the left menu.
- Narrow the list with the filters: Users, Lines, customer name or number, call duration, date, and type of call (inbound, outbound or voicemail). Pick real sales conversations.
- Click Preview on a call (or click the row to open the full conversation page).
- In the preview, click Export to download the audio. On the full conversation page, click Export at the top right and select Download audio.
- Save the MP3 file. Repeat for each call.
- Rename each file to something neutral, such as
call-01.mp3, if you do not want customer names in the file names.

Bulk. Aircall says: "There is no bulk download for recordings or voicemail MP3s." It also says admins can export a list of recording links from the Dashboard, but not bulk MP3 files. This guide uses the one-at-a-time download. For larger batches, ask Aircall what it recommends.
From Call History instead. In Call History, click the play icon in the Recording column to open the call details, where Aircall says you can listen to, copy or download the recording. The Call History Export button gives a CSV of call data (one row per call, with Call ID), which is handy for picking which calls to download. It is a spreadsheet, not audio. Aircall: Call History
Step 2: Choose and check the files
- Format. Aircall says the download is an MP3. Callyst's upload page and free check take
.wavor.mp3, up to 50 MB each. Import calls also takes.m4a. MP3 is accepted everywhere. - Check file sizes. Each file must be 50 MB or less. Check the size of your longest calls before you upload.
- Choose the calls. Pick real sales conversations. Callyst sets aside voicemails, no-answers, exact duplicates, calls under 60 seconds and calls over 90 minutes, so there is no point sending them.
- English. Callyst scores calls in English.
Step 3: Send them to Callyst
Option 1: Upload the files (free check). This is the route for the free check.
- Go to /free-check and fill in your name, work email and company. Gmail, Outlook and other free addresses cannot be used. One free check per company. Optional: send your own scorecard, or a checklist we turn into a draft scorecard. Without one, we use our standard sales scorecard.
- We email you a sign-in link. Click it, and press Sign in on the "Finish signing in" page that opens. That opens your private upload page. The link works once and expires after 15 minutes.
- On the upload page, tick We have permission to share these calls only if the people on the calls, and your company, allow Callyst to process the recordings. Our Terms ask you to upload only calls you have the right to record and use, including any consent that call-recording laws require.
- Upload up to 10 calls as
.wavor.mp3, up to 50 MB each. - When every file is uploaded, press Done, build my report. Your scored report arrives within 24 hours.

Option 2: Import calls (paste links). For teams already using Callyst; not part of the free check.
Pasted links are not part of the free check. For the free check, use Option 1.
This guide uses downloaded files. Import calls needs https links that Callyst can open and that point straight to an audio file. If you have put the downloaded MP3s in your own storage, a workspace admin on a team that already uses Callyst can paste up to 50 https links at a time on the Import calls page, for example pre-signed Amazon S3 links, and Callyst fetches each file. Import calls takes .mp3, .wav or .m4a, up to 50 MB each; the file type is read from the file itself. AWS charges can apply when Callyst fetches the links, as they can when you download the files yourself. AWS says data-transfer fees apply when you download objects outside the AWS network, and GET requests are charged (checked 22 October 2026).
To make a pre-signed S3 link for one file (AWS's own steps, AWS: Sharing objects with presigned URLs):
- In the S3 console, open your bucket and select the file.
- From Object actions, choose Share with a presigned URL.
- Set how long the link should last. In the console the longest is 12 hours. Use a short time, enough for the import to finish.
- Choose Create presigned URL and paste it into the Import calls box, one link per line.
AWS says anyone who has a presigned link can download the file until it expires. Treat each link like the recording itself: do not post it in public places, and keep expiry short. For many files, AWS also shows aws s3 presign on the command line, where the longest expiry is 7 days. Never paste AWS keys into Callyst, a ticket or an email. Callyst does not need them.
If a developer pulls your Aircall recordings with Aircall's API. Aircall's developer docs say the recording links the API returns are signed MP3 URLs that expire (1 hour for recording, 3 hours for recording_short_url), and tell developers to download the files as soon as they arrive and store them themselves. Aircall developers: work with call data A link has to be valid at the moment Callyst fetches it, so a link that has expired will fail. Storing the files first, then uploading them or linking to your stored copies, avoids that. Callyst has no Aircall connection and does not need Aircall access.
Example of what you paste (fictional links, not real):

https://amzn-s3-demo-bucket.s3.amazonaws.com/aircall/2026-10-14/call-0002.mp3?X-Amz-Signature=EXAMPLEWhat happens next
- Callyst transcribes the audio itself. You send recordings, not transcripts.
- Each call is scored against your scorecard, or our standard one. Item scores come with a quote from the call, checked word for word against the transcript. If no quote checks out, the score shows without one.
- Scores and coaching notes are AI-generated and can be wrong. Review flags before acting on them.
- Audio is deleted 30 days after scoring, and no recording is kept longer than 35 days.
- Compliance: add your compliance checks to the scorecard and Callyst flags the calls that miss them, with the quote.
Questions and answers
Does Callyst connect to Aircall directly?
No. Callyst has no built-in connection to Aircall or any other phone system. It works with any phone system that can export recordings, by upload for the free check. Teams already using Callyst can also import by link.
Can I download many Aircall recordings at once?
Aircall says there is no bulk download for recordings or voicemail MP3s. You download one at a time from the Conversation Center or Call History. The free check takes up to 10 calls.
What file types work?
.wav or .mp3 on the free check and the upload page, up to 50 MB each. Import calls also takes .m4a. Aircall downloads are MP3.
Do I need a particular Aircall plan?
Aircall says the Conversation Center is included in all plans, and you need the Supervisor or Admin role. How much call data you can export depends on the plan, and exports from the Analytics tab are Professional only. Ask your Aircall admin or Aircall if your screen differs.
How far back can I go?
Aircall says recordings from the last 6 months are available in the Dashboard or through a data export. The Call History CSV is call data, not audio, and its export range depends on your plan, so a longer CSV range does not mean older audio is downloadable. Aircall's pages also differ on some windows (the Workspace app shows 5 months). Check your own screen, and ask Aircall for older data.
Can I paste links for the free check?
No. Pasted links are not part of the free check; upload the files (Option 1). Teams already using Callyst can have a workspace admin paste up to 50 links at a time on the Import calls page.
Which calls does Callyst skip?
Voicemails, no-answers, exact duplicates, calls under 60 seconds and calls over 90 minutes are set aside and not billed.
Does Callyst score calls in other languages?
Callyst scores calls in English.
